Heard of parkour? Well it's something which you really shouldn't try unless you're the hyper type, and dreams to become a ninja as your ambition. Here's the definition of parkour from Wikipedia:
Parkour (IPA: [paʁ.'kuʁ], often abbreviated PK) is a physical discipline of French origin in which the participant — called a traceur (/tʁa.'sœʁ/) — attempts to pass obstacles in the fastest and most direct manner possible, using skills such as jumping, vaulting and climbing, or the more specific parkour moves. The obstacles can be anything in the environment, so parkour is often practiced in urban areas because of many suitable public structures, such as buildings, rails, and walls.
Well there you go. My purpose is not to promote this dangerous sport (again, kids, don't try this at home) but to introduce few movies which are related to it:
1.) Yamakasi

Synopsis from Y! :
Nines-year-old Jamal is injured in a fall and must have a heart transplant within 24 hours to survive. Jamal's poor family desperately needs to come up with $58,000 to pay the Heart Transplant Corp (HTC) for the operation. The Yamakasi, a group of daring urban acrobats, come to the rescue, burglarizing the homes of the rich HTC board members to pay for Jamal's operation.
2.) Banlieue 13 (District B13)

Set in the ghettos of Paris in 2010, an undercover cop and ex-thug try to infiltrate a gang in order to defuse a neutron bomb.
Oh, by the way, both of these movies are in French. I've personally watched Yamakasi before, but it wasn't so great, except for the cool stunts. I'm planning to watch B13 , even though the reviews weren't so great, but I've heard that the action is ground breaking (Transporter + Ong Bak).

Still shot from B13
Heard of any other movies related to parkour? Don't hesitate to share here...

Wow, I thought nobody at all knew about parkour! At least for me, if not for Sam, I probably will never know about it at all =)
Ooh btw, my brother hates it when people refer to parkour as a sport. He thinks it's so much more than a sport. Originally, I mentioned it was a sport in my blog, and when he read it, he made me change it to 'movement art'! Hehe...
Well, it's still one of those sub-cultures which don't have a very clear definition, because it is not widely known or practiced. As whether it's a sport or a form of art, it depends on the individual who practices it.
I think I will call it 'The Art of Ninja'. Hehehe...
hey all... sam here, yes the famous arm breaker.. hehe
since parkour has been "publicised", i decided to write up an article about it to clearify some things up.

oh btw since we're talking movies here, the new james bond film casino royal is supposed to have a 'parkour' scene in it, though sebastien foucan is teaching daniel craig.. problem here is that sebastien foucan is a freerunner.. i'm just wondering whether its gonna be parkour or free running
