Review: Pan's Labyrinth (2006)

"Laberinto del fauno", or "Pan's Labyrinth" is not a show for the faint-hearted, but for those who understands that in the world of fantasy and imagination, reality still lurks behind. The story tells us that Ophelia, the main character of the movie, still has to face the harsh real world in the midst of being surrounded by elements which you can find in "Alice In Wonderland". Not to spoil the show, but I feel that the ending of the story presents us a very vague picture. It is up to us to decide how we decipher the events that had happened throughout the movie, whether it is real or just in the mind of Ophelia. I don't really like these kind of shows which you have to make up your own mind, but it does help us to discover and rethink about the show more deeply. Probably in a spiritual sense.

Generally the show has quite a number of "eye candy" scenes, the one I love the most is the "Pale Man" scene. Go ahead and watch this show, just for that scene.

(3.5 out of 5 candies)
